Conceptual

BOOM!
This shot happened after about 2 hours of Josh freezing and me getting my camera repeatedly soaked. But it was exactly what I was looking for, violent and explosive.

I love doing conceptual work. I like to think of conceptual work as the R&D department of my photography. It is where there are no limits or stipulations just ideas. The place where I have complete freedom to explore, create and test. So, naturally, I was thrilled when Josh, my model, agreed to to be repeated doused with water in less than ideal temperatures(read, cold!)

The concept here was breaking. Breaking out onto the scene, onto a new stage in your life. I wanted it to be violent and powerful, maybe even impressive.

'Suppressed Power'
This is a rough concept of much more complex lighting setup I have planned, for an upcoming shoot. The idea here was as if all that energy of the top image was just bubbling below the surface, waiting to explode.

Overall I was very pleased with how the shoot turned out. A big thank you to Josh for job well done. I also have a whole set of E-sessions and family pics to show you, but those will have to wait.
